News Broadcasting English
introduction & explaining
The weather report on television is the example of green screen technology. The weather reporter stands in front of a screen and indicatest o things on a map that appears tob e behind them. We see it as one image, but actually there two images mixed together. To understand this technique, the iWorkhop will begin with you using your own news items and a self-made or selected background. We wil then shoot our itemsagainst various backgrounds with different “news reporters” (students) reporting from somewhere else in the world. This create a complete television news program with different reporters coming from all over the world. News from out of the sea, space, Australia, Cuba or from out the garden you drew yourself. You create anything you want.
iWorkshop fases:
-
which news item – and how to present it
-

-

-

T!PS
-
Don’t come up with news items that are too complex.
-
As well as photo or drawings you can use also a film as a background
-
1. Show of some examples of what you’re going to make
2. Work in a team of about 4 – 6 people. Each member picks one news item. You will come up with the subjects for the news yourself.
3. Start creating backgrounds. This can be done with pictures and images from the internet or you can use your own drawings that will be captured later.
4. Divide tasks in your group. Camera, directing, reporting, interviewers and interviewees, etcetera.
5. Then shooting, rehearsing, directing and acting follows! It is great to see your teammates as an ancherman, newscaster, interviewer or interviewee. Everyone has fun creating ande searching for news and producing their own news broadcast show.
